Reishi mushroom (Ganoderma lucidum) is a medicinal mushroom that has been used in herbal medicines and as food in countries in Asia, especially China, for over two thousand years. It is commonly referred to as the "mushroom of immortality".

G. lucidum contains polysaccharides, triterpenoids, nucleosides, sterols, alkaloids, polypeptides, fatty acids, steroids, and inorganic elements which haveantioxidant, anti-decrepitude, antitumor, anti-inflammatory, immunomodulation, hypoglycemic and hypolipidemic properties.

There have been a few studies on the effects of adding G. lucidum to the diet of chickens.
