The Avian Medical Center


The Avian Medical Center was established in 1984, and is currently the only veterinary clinic exclusively for birds in Oregon. Located in Lake Oswego, they are just a short drive from downtown Portland. Their staff are experienced, well trained and have birds of their own. From parrots to finches, from chickens to geese, they have the experience to meet the unique veterinary needs of your special bird. They are dedicated to ensuring that your bird receives the exceptional care it needs to be healthy and happy.

"Dr. Lintner treats her patients knowing that these are not just "chickens", these are family members and dearly loved individuals with unique needs. When other vets would suggest euthanasia, Dr. Lintner gives all available options, knowing that many of us would do anything in our power to save our chicken's lives. In one particular case, we worked together for an entire year on a reproductive health issue for our chicken Chili, ranging from antibiotic treatment and implants to doing not one, but two surgeries to try to save Chili's life. Dr. Lintner respected Chili as an intelligent, beautiful creature deserving of the best care. She really tried her best for Chili, and when Chili eventually passed, I knew that she had gotten the absolute best chance at survival because of Dr. Lintner's consistent care and expertise.
