Dr. Nicole Beard recently graduated with honors from Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine and joined the SVH team in June of 2024. She received her bachelor’s degree in Animal and Poultry Sciences with a minor in Biology from Virginia Tech. After eight years of living in southwest Virginia she is excited to start this next chapter with her new West Virginia family! Dr. Beard grew up on a small farm in Purcellville, Virginia where she cared for llamas, horses, chickens, ducks, rabbits, cats, dogs, and a parakeet. Growing up it wasn’t easy for her family to find a veterinarian that would treat pet farm animals, so Dr. Beard decided to pursue a mixed animal track in veterinary school. She is excited to offer veterinary care to all your fur (or feathered) animal babies at Shenandoah Veterinary Hospital!
