Dr. Emily Velez is a graduate of the University of Auburn College of Veterinary Medicine. She has completed an Exotic Internship at NorthCoast and is currently in a Reptile and Amphibian ABVP Residency at Northcoast Bird and Exotic Specialty Hospital.
Dr. Gary Riggs is one of the first 20 veterinarians in North America to earn board certification in Avian Practice by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (charter class) and has over 30 years exotic animal experience in private practice, zoo medicine, aquarium practice, wildlife medicine, and fieldwork. Dr. Riggs and his wife are founders of Wild4Ever, a 501(c)(3) wildlife conservation foundations (www.wild4ever.com). Dr. Riggs has been a consulting zoo veterinarian for 25 years, serving as the chairman of the Veterinary Advisory Group of the American Zoo and Aquarium Association, vice-chair of the AZA Animal Health Committee, and Species Survival Plan veterinary advisor for the endangered white-winged wood duck. He is a founding member of the Venezuelan Waterfowl Foundation and participated in field work in South Africa, Venezuela, and Cambodia as well as leading trips to the Galapagos, Amazon, Kenya, and Tanzania. Dr. Riggs has been a member of the Governor’s Wild and Restricted Animal Advisory Board, is consulting veterinarian for the Greater Cleveland Aquarium, Noah’s Lost Ark Exotic Animal Sanctuary, and provides wildlife care through Wild4Ever in partnerships with; Metro Parks Serving Summit County, Stark Parks, and Project Orphan among others. Wild4Ever is also currently supporting and participating in NE Ohio’s spotted turtle program…working to save one of Ohio’s most charismatic native species.
Dr. Jordan Adair is a graduate of the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. He has completed an Exotic Internship at NorthCoast and is currently in an Avian ABVP Residency at our practice.
