Dr. Nick Kirk is a Nashville native, and is excited to get back into the community as an avian specialist. Graduating from Belmont University in 2012 with his Bachelors of Science, he moved to Knoxville to attend University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine class of 2016. After vet school, he moved back home to work as an emergency veterinarian. He then moved to Utah to create a residency for the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Avian Medicine at Parrish Creek Veterinary Hospital. Four years after moving to Utah and becoming a boarded specialist in Avian Medicine, Dr. Kirk has returned to Nashville to provide specialized care for avian patients as well as other exotic patients. Dr. Kirk currently works for an AZA accredited aviary and several other facilities in Utah that he flies out to see from Nashville monthly in order to provide specialty care. Dr. Kirk has given multiple national and international presentations for many organizations, and continues to pursue research that pushes the boundaries for exotic companion animals as well as human medicine through anatomic modelling and novel surgical procedures. He currently lives with his Amazon parrot and company mascot Billy Rubin.
