Cheat Lake Animal Hospital

Cheat Lake Animal Hospital (CLAH) is a full-service veterinary, boarding, and grooming facility, providing everything from annual vaccinations to radiographs, orthopedic surgery and canine rehabilitation. We offer services for exotic pets as well as “regular” ones.

Jesse Fallon, DVM MS

Dr. Jesse Fallon grew up on a small farm in rural central Pennsylvania. He attended Penn State University for his undergraduate education where he met his wife, Katie. He went on to earn a Master’s degree in Animal and Veterinary Science from West Virginia University in 2004, and in 2008 he graduated from veterinary school at Virginia Tech with top honors. Dr. Fallon joined Cheat Lake Animal Hospital in 2009. He and Katie live in Cheat Lake with their daughters Laurel and Cora, two dogs, two horses, conure, and frog. Although he enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, Dr. Fallon is particularly interested in orthopedic and soft-tissue surgery. He has extensive experience in avian medicine, and has provided medical and surgical care for hundreds of species of birds, including falconry birds and birds from zoos and wildlife centers. His patients also include companion birds of all kinds, from parrots and cockatoos to chickens, ducks, and other fowl.

Nikki Becich, DVM

Dr. Nikki Becich graduated with a B.A. in Biology in 2013 from Pomona College in east Los Angeles, and is a 2018 graduate of Tufts Veterinary School outside of Boston, MA. She previously worked as an international field associate in Ecuador for the National Aviary in Pittsburgh, PA, against wildlife trafficking and for Andean Condor conservation efforts. She is most passionate about avian medicine and conservation ecology, but enjoys all aspects of wildlife, exotics, and small animal medicine. She has three cockatiels named Henry, Johnny, and June, one mostly blind bearded dragon named Grizz, and one diabetic, geriatric chihuahua mix named Petey. She is excited to see more exotic pets at Cheat Lake Animal hospital, and help Dr. Fallon with the Avian Conservation Center of Appalachia avian wildlife patients!

Tim Beichner, DVM

Dr. Tim Beichner is a native of Pittsburgh, PA and graduated with a liberal arts degree from Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, NY in 2010. His fascination with veterinary medicine and avian health in particular began in 2006 while working at the National Aviary in Pittsburgh, PA. During his time at the aviary he became a hospital intern and, eventually, began working as a veterinary technician there. Dr. Beichner continues to have a strong interest in avian medicine, but he also enjoys seeing dogs, cats, and some exotic pets as well. He lives with a big fluffy dog named Lyra, and a surprisingly loud yet tiny shaft-tail finch
