Dr. Knight is the owner of the Animal Care Center. Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Dr. Knight moved to Alabama to earn a degree in Animal Science at Auburn University. She remained at Auburn to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1986. In 1989, Dr. Knight opened her own practice, the Animal Care Center. Originally located in the shopping center on the corner of Old Shell and University, the ACC moved into its present-day building in 1997. Dr. Knight is a small animal veterinarian with a special interest in exotic pets, birds, and veterinary dentistry. She is a member of the American Veterinary Dental Society, the Association of Avian Veterinarians, and the Mobile Veterinary Medical Association. Outside of her practice, Dr. Knight enjoys tennis, gardening, and spending time with friends. She is active in her church community at the City Church of Mobile and is a participant in Mobile's Bible Study Fellowship chapter.
Dr. Zimlich has worked as a relief vet for the ACC since 2006, ensuring that all of Dr. Knight's patients get the best of care when she is not in the office. A native of Mobile, Dr. Zimlich attended Troy University, where he earned a degree in Marine Biology, and Auburn University, where he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Dr. Zimlich has particular interest in feline medicine, veterinary dentistry, and pain management. In addition to his work as a relief vet, Dr. Zimlich is an Emergency Medicine Veterinarian at MedVet Mobile. He also currently serves as the Treasurer of the Mobile Veterinary Medical Association. When not treating patients, Dr. Zimlich enjoys spending time outside, fishing, gardening, and canning. He loves spending time with his family and taking care of his chickens, four dogs, and many cats.
