Where to Give Chickens Intramuscular (IM) Injections

Intramuscular (IM) injections are usually given into the chicken's pectoral muscles from either side of the keel. To located the site, feel for the keel and inject in area 1/2 inch below the top of the keel bone, 3/4 inch above the bottom, and 1/4 inch distance from either side of the keel bone. Alternative sides each injection.
