Norethindrone

Norethindrone (brand name Ortho-Novum®), also known as norethisterone or mestranol, is a synthetic oral progestin. It is used in select cases of chronic egg laying in poultry.

Caution: When administered to a Rouen duck, it caused severe hypertension.

  • Clotrimazole: The metabolism of Norethisterone can be decreased when combined with Clotrimazole.
