Lactulose

Overview

Lactulose is mainly used in the management of hepatic encephalopathy to reduce production and absorption of ammonia from the gastrointestinal tract. May be indicated for certain cases of liver disease. May also be effective as an appetite stimulant.

0.3 mL/kg PO q12h

L-Glutamine:The therapeutic efficacy of Lactulose can be decreased when used in combination with L-Glutamine.
