Griseofulvin is a prescription-only antifungal medication used to treat ringworm and other skin-associated fungal infections in humans, dogs, horses and cats. It can also treat infections caused by Microsporum, Trichophyton and Epidermophyton species.
A recent study conducted by M Hussein et al., 2024 found it to be an effective treatment for candidiasis in chickens.
Griseofulvin can only be given orally and is ineffective topically. It is poorly soluble in water.
Storage: It should be stored at room temperature, ideally between 59°F and 86°F (15°C and 30°C) and do not exceed 104°F (40°C). Store in a tight container and protect from light.
