Cimetidine is a histamine type 2 receptor antagonist (H2 blocker) known for it's wide use in treatment of acid-peptic disease in humans. It has also shown to be of benefit for shrinking tumors in horses with melanoma, dogs, and humans. It has been sporadically given to birds and has shown potential.
Storage/Stability: Cimetidine products should be stored protected from light and kept at room temperature. Do not refrigerate the injectable product as precipitation may occur. Oral dosage forms should be stored in tight containers.
