Small Flock Veterinary Care is a specialized veterinary practice in Abbotsford, BC Canada. They specialize in providing veterinary services for backyard poultry. Their veterinary team has over 40 years of experience in the development of a very successful integrated poultry health management program. Through their continuing work with Canadian Poultry Consultants Ltd. Their goal is to provide professional advise and develop up-to-date personalized wellness plans for your flock focusing on preventative medicine.

Gigi Lin, DVM

Dr. Gigi Lin is enthusiastic about chickens no matter what your flock size is! Gigi received her B.Sc. in Agroecology from the University of British Columbia and earned her D.V.M from the University of Saskatchewan. Gigi joined Canadian Poultry Consultants Ltd. in 2017, where she provides diagnostic, research, continue education and field services to the poultry industry in Western Canada. Gigi is also passionate about backyard poultry medicine. She particularly enjoys diagnostic investigation and client education. Gigi is also a volunteer veterinarian for the Langley Animal Protection Society, where she donates her time to provide veterinary service for shelter animals.

Stewart J. Ritchie, DVM DACPV

Dr. Stewart Ritchie grew up in a family feed mill in the Fraser Valley of British Columbia and was immersed in poultry premix and feed production from an early age. Stew received his B.Sc. in Agriculture from the University of British Columbia and earned his M.S. from the University of Arkansas and D.V.M. from the University of Saskatchewan. Stew is also a Diplomate in the American College of Poultry Veterinarians. Stew is a member of the Poultry Science Association since 1980. Stew served as President of the American Association of Avian Pathologists. Dr. Ritchie served as President of the Western Poultry Disease Conference (WPDC) and was instrumental in adding British Columbia as host to many future WPDC meetings. Dr. Ritchie established the Western Meeting of Poultry Clinicians in 1990 and the B. C. Poultry Symposium in 2012. Dr. Ritchie was appointed to Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Population Health at the University of Georgia. Stew is President of Canadian Poultry Consultants Ltd. Since 1989 and S. J. Ritchie Research Farms Ltd. since 1992.
