Oxfendazole

Oxfendazole is a broad spectrum benzimidazole anthelmintic which is a sulfoxide metabolite of fenbendazole. It is used in poultry against roundworms and tapeworms. Unlike most of the other benzimidazole compounds, oxfendazole is absorbed more readily from the GI tract.

Storage/Stability: Unless otherwise directed by the manufacturer, oxfendazole products should be stored at room temperature and protected from light. The manufacturer recommends discarding any unused suspension 24 hours after it has been reconstituted.
  • The minimal dose of the drug which produced 100% efficacy against immature worms was 10 mg/kg body weight whereas the same effect on the mature parasite was obtained with 7.5 mg/kg body weight.
Available in a variety of formulations including pour-ons, drenches and oral suspensions.
