Norfloxacin

Norfloxacin is a first generation fluoroquinolone that has been available for treatment of bacterial infections for many years, but which now has limited indications and is not commonly used. It is active against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacterium.

In the United States, Norfloxacin is available by prescription only, meaning that you will need to obtain it through your veterinarian who will prescribe it "extra-label" to poultry kept as pets. Since this drug is a fluoroquinolone-class antibiotic, it is not approved for use in poultry that are not kept as pets.
