Isoxsuprine is a peripheral vasodilator used to help increase blood flow to parts of the body and thus improve circulation. It works by relaxing the veins and arteries, making them wider which allows blood to pass through more easily. These actions may be helpful for birds with arteriosclerosis, cerebral vascular insufficiency, soft tissue swelling, trauma, frostbite, and other conditions which could benefit from improved blood flow to the veins and arteries.
